Название салона объясняется сюжетом плафона, на котором художник Рене Антуана Асс изобразил «Венеру, подчинившую своей власти богов и силы природы».
В центральном овале мы видим трех Граций, возлагающих венок на чело сидящей в своей колеснице Венеры; она держит гирлянды из роз, которые обвивают Марса, Вулкана, Бахуса, Нептуна и Юпитера.
Изображенные в углах плафона Амуры связывают этими гирляндами Тита и Берениче, Антуана с Клеопатрой, Язона с Медеей, Тезея с Ариадной.
Гризайли, выделяющиеся на золотистом фоне, располагаются по обе стороны от центрального мотива и представляют «Юпитера в облике быка, похищающего Европу» и «Амфитриту, уносящуюся на Дельфине».
Напротив окон, в центральной стенной нише, установлена статуя молодого Людовика XIV произведение скульптора Жана Варена. В этом и следующем салоне, как и при Старом режиме, стоят античные бюсты.

В этом салоне при Людовике XIV играли в бильярд. Здесь стоял большой стол, покрытый малиновым бархатным ковром с золотой бахромой. Придворные дамы усаживались вокруг, на возвышении, что позволяло им следить за игрой и апплодировать успехам короля.
